Pupils were awarded in the framework of European Week

Today, at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, and in the framework of European Week, an event dedicated to Europe Day took place. Among the invited guests were representatives of the executive and legislative branches, diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia, and also representatives of international and local organizations. 

In the framework of the event, four social videos were presented. The purpose of the Georgian, Azerbaijani, Abkhazian and Armenian videos about business and agricultural development, environment protection and education is to spread information about EU-Georgia Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement through society.

In the framework of the same event, the award ceremony of the winners of the youth photo contest–, “My Europe”, was also held. The participants of the photo contest concerning the European future of Georgia comprised children in grades 9 through 12 from all over Georgia. The 16 best photos were selected by the hanging committee and were presented;. Davit Usupashvili, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia and Tamar Sanikidze, the Georgian Minister of Education and Science gave the contributors of the photos certificates and photo albums which included the presented photos;. As for the second and third place winners along with the contributor of the favourite photo as voted on Facebook, they were also awarded certificates as well as bookstore gift certificates, tablets and cameras.

The event dedicated to Europe Day was organized by the Parliament of Georgia and supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
