Public holiday “Abkhazetoba” is celebrated on May 23

There was a grand opening of the
public holiday “Abkhazetoba” at the Museum of Ethnography. The prime Minister
of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili, the Minister of Education and Science of
Georgia Tamar Sanikidze, the executive and legislative authorities of Georgia,
representatives of international organizations, Diplomatic corps, IDP
intelligence from Abkhazia and other invited guests have attended the event.
The guests saw the exhibition of photo-materials reflecting the cultural heritage of Abkhazia, paintings of Abkhazian painters, children’s paintings and works of folk craft. Also they attended a concert of students from art schools and educational facilities of Abkhazia, who performed Abkhazian dances and songs.
By the initiative and blessings of His Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi and Tskhum-Abkhazia Ilia II May 23 has been announces as a day of Abkhazia.
