Award ceremony for literary prize “Amirani” was held

First victory ceremony for literary prize “Amirani” was held in authorial school №6. The purpose of contest is to revealing of youth gifted with creative capabilities, support for their personal and creative growth. In the competition works of pupils from VII-XII classes were judged in three nominations. In particular, “The Best Poetic Composition”, “The Best Prosaic Composition” and “The Best Translation”. 29 finalists were determined. In the contest works of more than 600 authors were presented from all regions of Georgia, including Abkhazia.

By the initiative of №6 authorial school, literary prize of Georgian poet and translator, founder of №6 authorial school and teacher, Pako (Amiran) Svimonoshvili was established – the prize “Amirani”. Amiran Svimonishvili was died in 2014, at the age of 40.  

The works of the pupils were examined by the competent jury with all anonymity. The members of jury were: writer and dramatist – Lasha Tabukashvili, poet – Gaga Nakhutsrishvili, poet and translator – Andro Buachidze, expert of National Assessment and Examinations Center – Nino Gordeladze, journalist – Eka Talakhadze.   

Works of Finalists of the competition and also, of best authors will be printed and published in the form of almanac. The competition was announced in October 2014.

The organizers of the competition held informational meetings in almost all regions of Georgia and gave information about conditions and terms of the competition to the participants.
