Representatives of Massachusetts Institute of Technology are visiting Georgia

Works are going on to support and facilitate development of science. The Minister of Education and Science, Tamar Sanikidze met with representatives of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Main discussion was about the ongoing project within the frameworks of which study of potential of innovation and commercialization of technologies for scientific research institutes existed in Georgia is carried out.

For managing of this process and assessing commercialization potential, experts from Massachusetts Institute of Technology are taking part in the project. Invitation of foreign experts was organized by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and LEPL Innovation and Technology Agency.     

The project is divided on two phase. First phase covers description of scientific-technological potential, technological achievements, inventions, also technical basis of scientific-research institutes. During the process information is accumulated about existence of prototypes of scientific technological achievements, equipment or processes needed for their improvement, needs of cooperation with other institutions. Next phase of the project covers analyze of commercialization of existing potential and identification of perspective directions for the country. 

The specialists of Massachusetts Institute of Technology will help Georgian party to establish contacts for the presentation of existing scientific-technological potential on the international market and develop respective partnership relations.
