The Minister of Education and Science
of Georgia, Tamar Sanikidze reviewed the infrastructural projects implemented
at Shota Meskhia State Teaching University of Zugdidi. Among the other
important projects, there is a project for student dormitories, rehabilitation
of which has been finished and will host students from new academic year. The
hotel is made in compliance with European standards and is one of the best
dormitories in Georgia.
Up to 1000 students are studying
different educational programs at University of Zugdidi. More than 40% of
students are socially indigent and refugees from Abkhazia. First, the modern
dormitory will provide free service for these students. Foreign professors
under exchange programs will also live there.
