National Acknowledgement of Famous Scientist

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Tamar Sanikidze awarded another famous scientist, teacher and public figure, an academician of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, a professor of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Nodar Tsintsadze with the Presidential Order of Excellence.

Nodar Tsintsadze turned 85 years old this year. Together with the Minister, members of a science council of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences also congratulated the scientist for the anniversary and national recognition.

The academician Nodar Tsintsadze is the founder of widely recognized scientific school of Plasma Physics in Georgia and the author of more than 300 scientific studies. He always worked in the direction of the most current and difficult problems of Plasma Physics. Nodar Tsintsadze was the first to process the entirely new idea in Relativistic Plasma Physics, which became a foundation for using strong lasers. In addition, the idea of creating a new accelerator belongs to him. New quantum kinetic equation created by him is extensively used here and abroad for examining physical events of quantum plasma.

Nodar Tsintsadze has worked for years in different countries of the world as a visiting professor. During 2004-2011 Mr. Nodar was working in the chair of Abdus Salam, famous Pakistani scientist and Nobel Laureate, at the University of Lahore (Pakistan). He was the director of the International School of Plasma Physics in the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics (Trieste, Italy). Scholars and internationally recognized scientists, who were raised by him, are now successfully working in our country or in the leading scientific centers and universities abroad.

On the behalf of the Government, Tamar Sanikidze thanked Mr. Nodar for his extensive and productive scientific work and wished him long life and success.
