Session of “Sectoral Coordinating Council of Employment, Professional Education and Retraining” was held, organized by Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, with the support of Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs, which was chaired by the Minister of Education and Science, Tamar Sanikidze. Council was established within the framework of financial agreement document “Employment and Professional Education” signed between government of Georgia and EU.
During the meeting, activities were discussed, carried out according to 2015 policy of development of professional education and measures envisaged by EU technical assistance project. It should be mentioned that according to monitoring strategy, elaborated and approved along with EU, Georgia 100% implemented its obligation which envisages development of professional education. Thus, Georgia will receive support from EU provided by the second tranche. Financial aid from EU is very important for development of professional education.
“The meeting is very important for is, as well for Georgia because we are intensively helping Georgian society in the direction of development of professional education. We also took important decisions how it is possible in future to improve a system. We talked about works carried out within the frameworks of Program. Our delegation can say that we are happy that obligations taken by Georgia were implemented with high quality”, said Shtefen Shtock, head of project unit in Georgian representative office of EU delegation.
Session was attended by the first deputy minister of Education and Science, Ketevan Natriashvili, representatives of agencies of the Ministry, members of Sectoral Coordinating Council, also international donor organizations represented in the status of observer and other interested perties.
