With
the effort of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, in recent
years, the role of professional education in development of entrepreneurship has significantly increased. For this
purpose, the Ministry, along with Innovation and Technology Agency of Georgia,
is working on new module of entrepreneurship which envisages establishment of
"Fab Labs" (Fabrication Laboratory) - labs of industrial innovations.
Laboratories will be equipped with modern, high technologies and instruments
controlled by computers.
The
purpose of "Fablab" establishment is:
a)
Training of high quality cadres having engineering-researcher skills;
b)
Development of production of individual and traditional products of world
class;
c)
Facilitation of the spreading engineering and scientific knowledge of new
generation;
d)
Development of high quality, innovative technological idea and its following
commercialization;
e)
Acceleration of the process of transition to the innovative economy and its
sustainable development.
Establishment
of "Fablabs" in professional educational institutions will increase
quality of professional education and will develop such competencies in
students of those institutions which will help trained cadres to find their
place on rapidly and continuously changing world and local labor markets.
For
the purpose of sharing of industrial innovative labs establishment idea and
consideration of possibilities of future collaboration, First Deputy of
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Ketevan Natriashvili and Head of
Georgia's Innovation and Technology Agency, Irakli Kashibadze, visited
professional colleges situated in Tbilisi, got familiarized with educational
programs and examined existed labs and objects of educational practice.
