English Language Summer School is Successfully Functioning

Started by the initiative of Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia “English language Summer School in Georgia” program has been successfully running for already seven years. The participants of the program are successful students of 9, 10 and 11 forms who were chosen according to the results of the third tour of the National Learning Olympics and winners of different competitions held by the ministry. The deputy minister Lia Gigauri studied the project today.

The project is implemented on the basis of Buckswood International School and contains two subprograms: “English Language Summer School in Georgia” and “English Language Summer School in the United Kingdom”.

600 students participate in the program – they are divided on 3 flows. 36 best students (12 ones from each flow) are chosen and sent to Great Britain for 2 weeks to summer school. They are completely financed by the ministry.

An activity program at school is developed by the English counterpart and it is aimed at development of intellectual, physical and creative abilities of students. This way of encouraging students is very important, learners become more motivated and a number of school olympics is growing each year.

In the scope of summer school programs two summer schools are held this year – “Future Leaders Summer School” and “Multicultural Summer School for Ethnic Minorities”. The both will be held in Bacuriani, in July and August.
