Specific recommendations have been prepared by the MES Resource Officers institution through the involvement of Emergency Management Agency and public schools, in order to strengthen school security, prevent disciplinary violations in ordinary and emergency situations.
The recommendations are focused on refining security standards at educational institutions, which will contribute to a successful learning process.
Recommendations cover various matters including: the issue of setting up emergency headquarters at public schools, consisted of Resource Officers, school administration representatives, teachers; School students' information campaign, how to act in emergency situations; within the framework of this process, various thematic sample lessons will be held and so forth.
The project will be expanded throughout the whole country. Special training courses will be provided to school principals and Resource Officers involved in the project.
During the two years, important qualitative and contextual changes have occurred to the institution of Resource Officers and it has been formed into an institution which is oriented on the safety of pupils/students, Educational administration and teacher, as well as crime prevention. As a result, public trust in this institution has significantly been increased. Compared to previous results crime rate at public schools has been reduced by 30%.
