In the Library exhibition hall of the national library of the parliament of Georgia, the presentation of a new English translated version of the poem ‘The Knight In The Panther Skin’ was held. In last 40 years, new translation of ‘The Knight In The Panther skin’ has come out, which is the first poetic translation of 16 syllable poem.

The new translation published the publishing house ‘Poezia’.  Translator, poet and writer Lyn Coffin started working on this poem in 2012. interlinear translation was performed by professor Dodona Kizira. The text is based on ‘The Knight In The Panther Skin’ text finding commission published version in 1966 and commented edition by professor Nodar Natadze.  Respectively, professor Nodar Natadze edited the book. We can boldly say that the book deserves a good evaluation not only by the wide reader, but literary critics as well.

It should be mentioned that within the framework of IV festival of Georgian movie (1-7 October), the discussion was held about the new edition of translated poem ‘The Knight in The Panther Skin’. Participants besides Lyn Coffin were writer Aka Morchiladze and translator Donald Rayfield .
