Memorandum of Cooperation was signed at the Environmental Information and Education Centre between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia and Eco Vision – the Union for Sustainable Development.

Cooperation at preschool, educational and scientific institutions levels is envisaged in the Memorandum, aiming at:

ü     Implementing educational  projects directed towards  Environmental Education and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD);

ü      Popularizing of Natural Sciences, establishing healthy lifestyle; 

ü     Raising awareness on Environmental Protection.

Development of educational resources and their distribution, retraining of teachers  in environmental protection issues;  organization of exhibitions, workshops and other activities  devoted to International  Days for Environmental Protection; holding of thematic contests; teaching demonstration lessons; arrangement of clean-up and planting of greenery  activities; cooperation throughout the  process of creating media products, and etc. – these are the activities planned in the framework of the aforementioned  Memorandum.

“Eco Vision – the Union for Sustainable Development” was established in 2001.One of the major focuses of the Union is raising public awareness on environmental protection. Since its creation Eco Vision has implemented over 50 projects in the field of Environmental Protection that were funded by the International Donor Organizations.
