Meeting with the Georgian scientists of CERN

The winners of competition in exact sciences and their teachers met the Georgian  scientists, who are working in CERN is Switzerland:

  • Irakli Minashvili – physicist, leader of CERN technical group, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
  • Sophio Pataraia -  Scolar of ATLAS experiments in CERN, The University of Wuppertal (Germany)
  • Aleksi Mestvirishvili – Senior scientist of Iova University in USA, the author of  CMS in CERN;
  • Aleksi Gongadze – physicist of ATLAS experiment, group leader; Andronikashvili Physics Institute
  • Irma Gongadze – engineer- physicist of ATLAS in CERN
  • Alexander Bitadze - engineer- physicist of ATLAS experiments , University of Manchester (UK)
  • Gia Koriauli – physicist of ATLAS experiment, Mainz University (Germany)

Scientist shared their experiences to children and talked the way they passes to CERN and  what they are occupies with.  Georgian students have opportunities to get answers to all interested issues.

After the excursion in CERN pupils mentioned that these days passed in CERN were one of the important moments in their lives. They got information about the unique experiments, achievements in science, huge perspectives and interesting projects. They admit that this experience will help them to choose future professions.

The main goal of Ministry of Education and Science is therefore to give pupils incentive and motivate them. This is the project, that increases the informativeness of pupils and assist them to choose the future career plans.
