The Minister of Science and Education of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze and executive director of Millennium Challenge Corporation Magda magradze, within the Millennium Challenge Fund compact, visited the public school of Dzegvi.
From the 2015, in purpose to improve the educational appliances, Millennium Challenge Fund started the rehabilitation of public schools in the regions of Georgia. First rehabilitation season comprises schools from the regions of Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti. For the next 4 years they plan to rehabilitate 100 schools in the regions of Georgia. The project is implemented by the financial aid of USA Millennium Challenge Corporation, with the close collaboration of Ministry of Science and Education of Georgia. The overall budget of school rehabilitation is 54$ million. After this project the school appliances will be improves for the 37 000 beneficiary.
The project of improvement school environment, fulfilled by the fund, comprises the complete rehabilitation teaching base of public schools. It also ensures the reconstruction of communication systems of schools and supplying schools with needed laboratories. The selection of schools are made by the American organisation, which is hired by the Millennium Challenge Corporation of USA. The selection is occurred on the base of pre-established priority methodology.
Within the tender, 5 Georgian construction company ware selected , which employed 500 persons.
Millennium Challenge Fund is accomplishes the project of general education within the Millennium Challenge Corporation, with the close collaboration of Ministry of Science and Education of Georgia and Agency of infrastructure development.
