The orientalist institute with its 7 faculty, at the Tbilisi State University, celebrated the foundation of orientalist institute with the  scientific conference and presentation of  scientific work collection. The meeting was presented by the Minister Tamar Sanikidze, other members of government, TSU academic staff, lectors and students.

In 1945 with the initiative of Giorgi Tsereteli, was founded the orientalistic institute. It become the world acknowledged centre of Orientalists. Nowadays  this is inherited to the faculty of Humanity , orientalist research institute, which successfully  explores  the history of the near and far east, their religion, Islamic cultures, literature, art,  philosophy and law.  It also explores the middle age music, the Georgian East relationship history, political, economical and social aspects of east.
