A presentation of the booklet Books for Home Reading was carried out under the aegis of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and Tbilisi City Assembly. The writer, Zaal Samadashvili offers the schoolchildren and their parents the list of necessary home reading material. The literature is selected  regarding three age groups – younger, middle age and elder children. All Tbilisi public schools will receive these lists. The lists will also help the families, who wish to make the reading process enjoyable for their children.

Zaal Samadashvili created three short lists of home reading material, with preface, in spring, 2006, during his time as a principle of public school #53. Today, all public schools will be presented with these lists by the support of the Ministry of Education and Science.

The goal of the joint project of the Ministry of Education and Science and Tbilisi City Assembly is to offer books to schoolchildren, according to their age and to teach them respect of literature. The booklet Books for Home Reading was published with the support of UNICEF.

The Chairman of Tbilisi City Assembly, Zaal Samadashvili and the Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini attended the presentation, held at public school #23.
