Georgian Solidarity Fund held an activities report of the 2015 year at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Tamar Sanikidze, representatives of the Ministry and subordinate offices attended the ceremony.

The executive director of Georgian Solidarity Fund – Mariam Jashi, thanked each employee for their support and noted that both public and private sector should be more active in order to support various programs and future expansion.

Georgian Solidarity Fund was founded in 2014, with the Prime Minister's initiative. In the first stage, the Solidarity Fund’s main priority was to help the children with cancer who are under the age of 22, however, the fund's mandate is much more extensive and growing in terms of public participation, and the solidarity fund was able to expand programs in health and social protection.

Since its establishment, the fund has more than 55 000 public service employees (about 20%), 24 private companies and 53 student organizations has joined the cause. As a result, from July 2014 to February 29, 2016, a total of 5.9 million GEL was raised. GEL were mobilized. Overall, the fund has already approved the funding for 220 children for the health treatment as in Georgia and across its boarders.

The Ministry of Education and Science’s 32% of employees are actively involved in the Georgian Solidarity Fund. The cooperation will continue, and the Ministry of Education and Science plans to implement joint projects, charity events and many more. It is also planned the involvement of employees as well.
