The memorandum was signed between the Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini and the Minister for Diaspora Issues, Mirza (Papuna) Davitaia at the Ministry of Education and Science. The memorandum envisages creating and presenting three months curricula for Weekend Schools abroad.
By the Minister’s announcement, the National Curriculum that will be in compliance with Georgian public schools, will be created for Georgian schoolchildren abroad. The Ministry will allocate funds to buy school books for Georgian children who return to Georgia from other countries. This will help them easily integrate in Georgian educational system.
Creating the National Curriculum for Georgian schoolchildren abroad is necessary for maintaining National language and identity.
