Tbilisi public school N. 186, held an exhibition, and a competition with the topic of “Role of Women in History and Today.”
During the event, students presented information on the history of the 10 outstanding women's activities. Equality of men and women have been shown in public opinion polls showing the video.
During the event, the audience was addressed by Francesca Kelly, the United States ambassador's wife in Georgia, who works on the history and present role of women and awarded the winners with special diplomas. At the end, a discussion was held on the issue.
Among the guests were US Ambassador to Georgia - Ian Kelly, Deputy Minister of Education and Science - Lia Gigauri, Deputy Defense Minister - Ana Dolidze, school principals, teachers, students and women working on the issues of non-governmental organizations.
The event was funded and supported by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), PH International, The Ministry of Education and Science, and UNDP Georgia.
The program provides assistance to 480 schools in all regions of civic education in order to raise the quality of teaching.
