With the organization and support of Peace Corps – US governmental organization in cooperation with the US embassy in Georgia, a National Competition of English spelling (NESC – GE) was conducted. Today the final event of the competition was held.

NESC-GE is a national competition, which is held annually for the students of 8-12 grade to test themselves in the spelling of English words. This project helps the students and teachers, to improve their English language skills in spelling.

US Ambassador Ian Kelly congratulated the contest finalists and addressed them with the ceremonial speech – “we are proud of your accomplishments. Your hard work, prestinence, and fortitude should be an example to all of us. You are all winners in this competition!”.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science – Ms. Lia Gigauri emphasized the important of Peace Corps in Georgia and praised the students for their effort to enhance their English language, therefore ameliorating the language situation amongst the Georgian society.

The event was also attended by Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia – Mr. Revaz Javelidze. The official competition closing ceremony will be held at the US ambassador’s residence on March 27, where Mr. Kelly will give the prizes to the corresponding first, second and third place winners.
