Dual vocational education reform is being implemented successfully

Throughout the recent years, a solid cooperation has formed between The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in terms of vocational education development. GIZ is one of the supporters of the reform and encourages the strategical deveopment and its effective implementation. Moreover, various reforms and initiatives have been successfully implemented within the scope of "Private Sector Development in South Caucasus " – a project organized and funded by the German Society International Cooperation (GIZ).

At this stage, a successful German dual vocational education model is in process of implemention for the course of  winemaking. A productive implemention of the above-mentioned model is available, due to an active participation of the private sector, in-depth knowledge of the histrorical/traditional technologies, sharing of the international experience, applying the innovative and modern approaches in conjunction with acquiring a solid understanding of the labor market. 

 

In order to support the implementation of the dual vocational education in winemaking and  support the internationalization, a head of the wine department at the Bavarian State Research Center – Mr. George Batzi together with 25 German students visited Georgia. During the visit, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science - Ms. Ketevan Natriashvili talked about the role of viticulture and winemaking in education, and spoke about the importance of introducing German dual vocational education model in Georgia. 

During the course of meeting, the German students visited "Chateau Mukhrani" palace, where they were introduced to the ancient traditions of winemaking in Georgia, and met with the current wine-making vocational students of the region. Furthermore, German experts and students shared their experience about the German dual vocational education and discussed the further employment issues.
