A mandatory guard service has started functioning at N1 and N2 public schools of Duisi – Kakheti Kakheti, where the number of students exceeds 500.
Furthermore, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia –Ms. Tamar Sanikidze and Chief of Mandate service – Mr. Vakhtang Meipariani, introduced the newly recruited personnel to the public school representatives, and have already started their duties.
Selected candidates, underwent a special education and resource training program in conjunction with completing a psychological training course at the Police Academy. A gradual introduction and enhancement of the mandate service is planned to be executed in the regions of Samtskhe-Javakheti and at public school N5 in the Kvemo Kartli region.
At this stage, there are 1202 mandatory guards providing security measures at; 419 public and four private schools, three vocational colleges and at one of the higher learning institutions.
As it is known, a major mandatory guard service reform was conducted few years ago. There were several psychological centers set up, and a special career planning program was launched. Moreover, from the beginning of 2016-2017 academic year, all schools in the Pankisi region, will begin a special vocational education ortientation and career planning services to the students of 9th and 11th grade. In addition, within the scope of this project there are numerous visits planned to several enterprises, factories, educational institutions to obtain necessary information regarding various vocations and professions.
