From July 23 to August 1, 2016 Georgia will host the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO-48), with the participation of 76 countries and over 300 students. According to the rules and regulations, before the start of the Olympiad, the supervisory board members visit the host country in order to get acquainted with the preparatory works.
During the visit to Georgia, the President of IChO 48 and other members of the supervisory board held a meeting with the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia –Ms. Tamar Sanikidze and discussed various aspects of the Olympiad. Additionally, meetings were also held at the Ministries of Health Care, Economy, Foreign and Internal Affairs, as well as at the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
The honorary guests also visited the accomodation premises for the students and mentors, as well as the sites for the opening and closing ceremonies.
Furthermore, all the preparatory actions and planned activities for the upcoming Olympiad receieved high rating from the supervisory board members, and is fully in compliance with international standards for the Olympiad.
The monitoring delegation already left Georgia. A special appeal will be prepared by them and sent to all the participating countries.
