San Diego State University (SDSU) opened a two day seminar – STEM academy for the entrants. During the seminar, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Mr. Aleksandre Jejelava met with the San Diego State University students, professors and the interested entrants, who desire to continue their studies and the above mentioned university.

STEM Academy participants were addressed by the Executive Director of the Millennium Challenge Fund – Ms. Magda Maghradze, the Executive Director of Millenium Challenge Corporation Georgia, Ms. Jenner Edelman, the director of the National Museum – Mr. David Lortkipanidze, and the dean of San Diego State University – Mr. Ken Walsh.

The aim of the visit of the American sciencists in Georgia is to share the latest discoveries and achievements in the fields of engineering, technology, and science (STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with the interested students, as well as talk about the higher education system in the US, and discuss any other interesting subjects.

San Diego State University (SDSU), in collaboration with the Millennium Challenge Account – implements a number of internationally accredited undergraduate programs in engineering and STEM fields such as (ABET, ACS, WASC) in Georgia since 2015.

Furthermore, the graduates will receive an American diploma. Additionally, these programs will support Georgi’s development in the fields of natural sciences and technology, and support the training of highly skilled workforce. The project is implemented by the US Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) under the second compact financial support.
