The competition aims to encourage national and international researchers in science and technologies, with the purpose of active and productive engagement, as well as, to promote the popularization of science in Georgia, in conjunction with giving special appreciation to the achievements made in science.

Award for the outstanding achievements in science and technologies, will be issued in a one-time manner through a competition.

Competition takes into consideration giving award to a single scientist or to a research group.

For the competition of 2016 the award is given to the following categories:

A) The best foreign scientist in the Georgian studies (priority being Rustavelology)

B) the best young scientist of 2016;

C)  the best scientist of 2016;

D) the best research group of 2016;

Award categories of the competition is open to the following subjects:

A) To obtain an award for the best foreign scientist, the researcher/scientist should be involved in the field of Georgian studies, who is also a foreign national holding a PhD, or an equivalent degree.

B) To obtain an award of the best young scientist of 2016, the researcher/scientist should hold a PhD or an equivalent degree, who is actively involved in the national scientific investigation, and is no more than 35-year-old.

C) To obtain an award for the best scientist of 2016, the researcher/scientist should hold a PhD or an equivalent degree, who is also a Georgian national, actively involved in the national scientific research/investigation. The group may consist of postgraduates, PhD students and/or foreign scientists.

The documentation submitted for the competition should be in Georgian language, the English proposal forms are only to be filled for the foreign scientists involved in the Georgian studies, which is one of the sub-categories in the competition for the best foreign scientist of 2016.
