The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure has completed a construction of the a modern 320 room dormitory complext. The construction was visited by the Minister of Education and Science – Mr. Aleksandre Jejelava, together with the First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure – Mr. Ilia Darchiashvili, and the Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund – Mr. Juansher Burchuladze.

The Dormitory will improve the living conditions of the socially unportected students who excell at studies from different municipalities.

The dormitory was built and equipped in accordance with international standards. As according to the initial project, the premises comprises of three blocks of apartments and and an administrative building. Also, there is a cafeteria, conference room, medical station, library, computer room, laundry, and other supporting infrastructural outlets that creatres an extremely comfortable environment for the students. Outside the building there is a path of internal roads and routes, open playground, outdoor gym and organized street lights. Moreover, the premises have been greened, and many plants have been planted. The construction was financed by the state with estimate value of 5,250,777 GEL.

The construction started in Spring 2014, owing to the initiate of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure and the Municipal Development Fund. In additional, in the residential areas, there are some of the hotel-type apartments. Amongst them, there are a few intended for the people with disabilities, there the entire premises are fully adapted to the people with disabilities.

As for allocating students to the dormitory, the Ministry of Education and Science will develop the action plan and procedures regarding this matter.
