Within the scope of the European week, a video stories competition - " a Step towards Europe" was held. The competition’s main aim was to promote the importance of Georgia’s integration into the European space; to analyze the role of the European integration for Georgia’s democratic development, thus shaping a democratic civil society; and to express their views and general attitude towards the European values. The competition was open to both public and private school students, primarily for the basic and secondary grades.
The special commission designed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, examined a total of 25 video stories, out of which eight were selected for the nomination.
According to the conditions of the competition, the winners of I, II and III places would be given computer hardware and accessories giftcards, whereas the rest of the winners (five of them) would be given certificates.
Additionally, at the same day, the winners of the “Step towards support” competition were announced, for creating slogans, school performances / flash mobs and etc. The major goal of the contest was to make the students express their attitude towards the violence of any kind; to contemplate about the people whose rights have been limited or has totally been abolished.
