A conference was held for the parents of the teenager with the special education needs and with disabilities at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
The major topic of the conference was to train the persons with the special educational skills nad disabilities for the independent living as well as to transition their education from schools to vocational education. The conference focused on the opportunities, which the Ministry can offer to the persons with the special educational needs in order to secure their education after school.
The conference focused on the independent life, and the to give to the people with disabilities the right of a free choice. Additionally, it was mentioned that, their interest must be respected, and how the parents plays an important role in this general process.
Parents conference focused on ap arent as the protector of the human rights. There was a brief discussion regarding the ways of communictation between the parents and other agencies, for the effective upbringing and education of a child.
The conference was attended by parents from various regions of Georgia. Also, several non-profit organizations were involved in the discussion process, and people with special educational needs and disabilities themselves, who shared their experiences regarding the education and employment. Moreover, there was a exhibition – “for Babale”.
