Aleksandre Jejelava’s speech at the Ambassadorial 2016

Within the context of Georgia’s foreign policy during the current Ambassadorial, there was a special session devoted towards the development of educational and cultural diplomacy, in conjunction with enhancing the cooperation with the diasporas.
Throughout the above-mentioned session, the participants of the Ambassadorial held meetings with the Minister of Education and Science – Mr. Aleksandre Jejelava, Minister of Culture – Mr. Mikheil Giorgadze, and deputy State Minister for  Diaspora Affairs – Mr. Gela Dumbadze.
Mr. Aleksandre Jejelava addressed the participants of Ambassadorial 2016, and noted that the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is working closely with many countries in the fields of education and science, which is a result of active efforts of Georgian diplomatic representatives.

The Minister of Education and Science, reffered to the merit of US government’s Millenium Challenge Coporation – Second Compact, which serves for the quality development in education and funds various long-term projects such as STEM education and the general improvement in natural sciences and technology. Aleksandre Jejelava also noted, that the government is interested in “Horizon 2020” project, and a number of projects will be implemented towards this direction.  

The Minister also emphasized, that it is crucially important to strengthen the exhange programs for the science students, and in this regard, a solid support from the diplomatsic corps is absolutely significant. Towards the end of his speech, the Minister answered all the questions from the diplomats.
