The multidisciplinary team of The Ministry of Education and Science preparing for the autumn admissions for the vocational education. The team members will be involved in the evaluation and testing processes for the individuals with the special education needs. The training sessions for the Tbilisi and Regional members of the team was held in three stages, where they received additional information and instructions regarding working with the individuals with special educational needs. In addition, a review and the analysis of the existing challenges was conducted. It is important to note, that the information and the training received during the training sessions will make education more flexible for the individuals with special educational needs.
During the vocational education registration period, the individuals with special educational needs have the opportunity to choose three interested programs under one specific field. Based on the vocational testing, and after having checked the practical side, the applicant makes the final choice.
Testing is a priority activity for the practical experience of the vocational education program. The applicants are engaged in the vocational activity and implement the instructions given to them by the teachers or the tutors. Upon completion, the applicant chooses the desired vocation.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, introduced the implementation of inclusive education since 2013. With the support of the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research the project “Inclusive education of vocational education and training system” is taking place in Georgia. The initiative aims to increase the access to vocational education and training for the individuals with disabilities or special educational needs. The program aims to tailor the educational system to their individual skills and capabilities.
