Akaki Tsereteli State University renewed the composition of the Rectors Council, and held their first meeting, which was opened by the Minister of Education and Science – Aleksandre Jejelava. The leaders of the public and private higher educational institutions were attending the council.

There was an extensive report made by the Minister regarding the following topics: the development opportunities for the foreign and internationally accredited programs, issues related to the beginning of the new academic year, the development of the funding system, the introduction of the dua training elements,

The head of the Higher Education and Science development department – Irine Darchia, spoke regarding the specifications for the Creative Arts and Sports programs enrollment, the introduction of the Teachers Training program, as well as about the Tbilisi Innovation festival related issues. Additionally, the Council was converted into the dialogue session.

Rectors Council meets several times a year and discusses the development of higher education and all the important issues related to the higher education, as well as reconciling their views and taking joint decisions.
