A University City project was presented in Kutaisi, which was attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia – Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the Minister of Education and Science – Aleksandre Jejelava, and the representatives of the educational system.
The largest in the Caucasus region, the city with the modern infrastructure and the latest laboratories will become the regions biggest educational attract and a center of education and science. The first admissions into the University is planned to start in the year of 2019.
The University city in Kutaisi and the Technological Center located in Tbilisi have a joint budget of 1 billion euros and is fully funded by the fund “Kartu”. The university will fully accommodate 60,000 students spread over a territory of 140 hectares. In addition, the university will provide the local Georgian market with the highly qualified specialists in almost every field, to ensure the rapid development of Georgia’s economy.
