Innovation competition announce for the high school students

Millennium Challenge Account has announced a innovation competition for the high school students, for the academic year of 2016-2017. The innovation competition aims to nominate best three teams in the country, based on their projects in three fields: innovation, technology and science. The team who receives the best team nomination, will visit NASA, in the United States in April 2017.

The competition serves to encourage young people with innovative ideas and projects in the fields of natural sciences and technology. One of the main project’s aim is to connect successful students with the successful scientists and the private sector. This year, with the active partnership with the private sector, the competition’s major friend has become LLC Geocell.

Students participating in the competition must be born from April 2, 1998 up to April 1, 2004. In order for a tem to participate, a team must submit a proposal in one of the following categories: Space and Aviation, Health and Nutrition, Cyber technologies and safety, Environment, Energy and climate change, Mobile technology and its applications. Deadline for the applicants ends on October 18, 2016.

The competition organized by the Millennium Challenge Account with its full financial support, has already been held twice, in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 academic years, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science. Moreover, there were 153 teams involved from nine different regions of Georgia. The winning teams participated in various summits and conferences in the United States, including the Conrad Foundation’s Innovation Summit, in NASA’s Kennedy Center, in Florida.
