Millennium Challenge Account, within the scope of the project – “Vocational Education for the Economic Development”, held an award ceremony for the winners in the grant competition. The grant competition is fully funded by the US Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
The award ceremony was opened by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Aleksandre Jejelava, the ambassador of the United States of America in Georgia – Ian Kelly, the CEO of Millennium Challenge Corporation – Nancy Lee, and the Executive Director of Millennium Challenge Account – Georgia – Magda Maghradze.
Due to the winning projects, new international programs will be created, which will be in full compliance with the international rules and standards, and will be required in the following fields: Maritime, Engineering, Tourism, IT, Aviation and Agriculture. Four projects, out of ten, will be implemented in the regions of Georgia. Whereas, the other projects will be executed in Tbilisi. Moreover, the total budget for the above-mentioned projects estimates to 19.6 million USD, out of which 12 million is allocated by grants and the rest is co-financed by the private sector.
