A conference regarding Work-Based Learning was held. The conference was attended by the Minister of Education and Science – Aleksandre Jejelava, who addressed the audience. Work Based Learning (WBL) is the best practice in vocational education, which represents the type of training, where the individual is studying in the process of work in various companies and enterprises. This contributes greatly to the quality of vocational education, and introduces a new, modern way of teaching.

Based on the analysis of international experience and a survey of employers, a new model of work-based learning was introduced in Georgia in 2015. The model itself is derived from the local socio-economic enrivonment, and is tailored to the specific country requirements. Furthermore, the Georgian employers have shown that they were prepared to engage in the program.

It needs to be mentioned, that Work-based learning helps young people acquire professional experience and enhance their career management skills. Therefore, work-based learning format has the potential to develop the labor force and to promote youth employment in Georgia.
