The new fully renovated vocational college “Aisi”, located in Alvani village, Akhmeta district equipped with the newest technologies and training facilities has resumed its functioning, after rehabilitating its infrastructure. The minister of Education and Science – Aleksandre Jejelava and the First Deputy Minister – Ketevan Natriashvili visited the college, and inspected the new environment.
The Alvani brand was given to the vocational college “Aisi” in 2007, but it was in desperate need for renovation. Consequently, the building has been fully rehabilitated with the modern computer technology and appliances, central heating, and air-conditioning, in conjunction with fully adapting the premised to the SEN students.
Vocational programs, which are implemented at the college are fully tailored to the needs of the region. This includes veterinary, tourism, handicrafts, art, as well as programs that promote entrepreneurship in the region. Moreover, there is a special demand for the decorative fabrics and wool processing, since it is a very popular craft in the region. The programs will be further improved and developed.
The second floor of the building is reserved for the hotel, where the tourism students will undergo practice.
Over the past two-three years, in terms of employment, all students were employed. Mostly, the students are manufacturing souvenirs in Mta-Tusheti, which the tourists find very appealing. – was stated by the director of “Aisi” vocational college Alvani branch – Nugzar Dzamukashvili.
