A Rectors Council session was held at the Georgian Technical University, which was opened by the Minister of Education and Science – Aleksandre Jejelava. Additionally, the leaders of the private and public higher education institutions participated in the meeting.
An extensive report regarding the electronic information portal was given by the Minister – Aleksandre Jejelava, in conjunction with presenting his views regarding the development of the funding system to ameliorate and enhance electronic and distance learning, as well as developing the format of Innovation Science Festival in 2017.
The new standards for the Higher Education authorization was presented by the director of the National Center for Education Quality Enhancement – Tamar Sanikidze. Furthermore, the head for the Education and Science Development Department – Valerian Gobronidze, spoke about the the new teachers’ training programs and the plans to develop the educational programs.
Rectors Council meets several times a year and discusses the development of higher education and all the important issues, thus reconciling the views and taking joint decisions.
