Owing to the EU4Business initiative, strategic seminar was held on a subject: vocational qualifications for the development of small and medium-scale entrepreneurs.

The seminar was organized by the European Union co-financed project: “Small and medium enterprise development and DCFTA in Georgia” which is implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) program "Private Sector Development in South Caucasus" project.

The seminar aimed at presenting the actual issues regarding the effective implementation of producing highly qualified human resources for the business sector, in conjunction with discussing cooperative perspectives with the higher and vocational education with the training-provision companies. The seminar was held under the EU-Georgia Association Agreement Chapter 4 - Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA).

International partner organization, the government agencies, the representatives of business sector and other interested parties attended the seminar. The seminar was an excellent example of sharing the best local or international experience

The first deputy Minister – Ketevan Natriashvili participated in the seminar, as well as the deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development – Genadi Arveladze. On behalf of GIZ and the European Union – Marita Riddel, the director of “Private Sector Development in South Caucasus" project in Georgia welcomed the guests, with the EU Delegation attaché for Free Trade and the Development of private sector – Francesca Mazzucco.

The project “Small and medium enterprise development and DCFTA in Georgia” is co-funded by the European Union and is being implemented under the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) program "Private Sector Development in South Caucasus" project.

The project is being implemented with the EU4Business initiative (for the small and medium-scale enterprise development). The project unifies the countries of the Eastern Partnership and it aims to ameliorate the business situation in the six countries.

Together, during a 50-year expansion period, they have built the zone of democracy, stability and sustainable development, whilst preserving their cultural heritage, tolerance and individual independence. The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) is global distributor for the international cooperation in terms of sustainable development. GIZ has a variety of work-fields, and has 50 years’ worth of experience. They are involved in Economic Development and employment, Energetics, and Environmental peace and safety. GIZ on behalf of the Ministry of Economic cooperation and Development of Federal Germany has been cooperating with Georgia since 1990s, in conjunction with supporting the transformation of Georgia as a social base economic country.
