The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Aleksandre Jejelava visited and inspected Telavi Flight-Training Base – “Mimino” of Georgian University of Aviation equipped with modern infrastructure and technical appliances. Additionally, the Minister also attended the students’ training session.

The institute was founded in 1992, and since 2005, the institute continued to exist as a Georgian University of Aviation. Within a short period, the university has raised numerous specialists and professionals, who are currently working in the Ministry of Defense and Air Force services of Georgia.

The University possesses a modern material-technical base. Moreover, the base has the FNPT II MCC class flight simulations, which comply with the modern standards and are in full line with the airplanes such as Cessna, Piper seneca, Boeing 737-200, and EASA. In addition, the base has the specialized learning laboratories, the international flight-training center and a student accommodation facility in Telavi city.

The Aviation University executes the teaching of Bachelor’s, Master’s PhD and vocational educational programs in the following fields:

• Flight operation (commercial pilot);

• Aircraft maintenance operation;

• Aircraft design and manufacturing;

• Aircraft avionics and electrical systems

• Information Technology and flight control systems;

• Terrestrial radio technical means of operation;

• Air Transport Management and others.

The international Flight Training Center, which functions on the university premises, actively cooperates with the “Boeing” company - Jeppesen.

The Center conducts the training and retraining of the personnel, in conjunction with increasing their qualification.
