Dimitri Shashkini met with the teachers of № 198 Public School and Attended a New Year Concert

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini visited Tbilisi Public School №198. Out of 150 pupils of the School, 90% are children with special education needs and 10% come from the socially vulnerable families. Pupils presented their handicraft to the Minister and put on some performances. The Minister delivered New Year presents to the children and held a meeting with around 40 teachers.

Teachers of the Public School №198 work with the pupils according to individual curricula. They adapt study programs themselves and simplify texts. The School has its own training modules and provides training for the public school teachers. The School is of open type, prepares children for moving to non-specialized schools and then monitors pupils with special needs who already study there. The Minister expressed his gratitude for the teachers’ efforts they take in respect to these children and promised to tackle with their problems.
