By organization of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, third national competition of the Worldskills Georgia was held on January 18-20 in 6 professional skills: graphic design, web design, hairdressing, cooking, confectionery and restaurant service.
Especially for this event, the president of international competition of professional skills - Worldskills, Simon Bartley visited Georgia, who together with the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Aleksandre Jejelava took part in the opening ceremony of national competition. The members of the Government of Georgia, Parliamentarians and the representatives of international organizations took part in the opening ceremony and wished success to the participants of the competition.
The students of the vocational colleges competed in vocational skills during two days in the third national competition of WorldSkills Georgia. Six young winners will be announced on January 20. They will participate in 44th WorldSkills International Competition, which will be held in Abu Dhabi on October 14-19, 2017.
Georgia has been working with the Worldskills International Organization since 2012 and the team of the country has already participated in two international competitions.
Participation in national and international WorldSkills competitions promotes popularization and internationalization of vocational education, imports the latest trends by Georgian experts, which in turn will develop our country’s economy.
