Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Aleksandre Jejelava met with Director General of the European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiation Directorate, Christian Danielson and other senior representatives of the European Commission.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister briefly reviewed the situation available in Georgia in terms of education and science and introduced the priority directions of development of these areas to the representatives of the European Commission.
Christian Danielson got interested in the challenges facing the system and the specific plans that the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia intends to implement. He emphasized that the education sector is the priority for the European Commission.
At the meeting, the parties also discussed the regional initiatives of the European Commission. In particular, establishment of the European school in Georgia, where together with the Georgian young people, the pupils of the Eastern Partnership countries will be able to study.
At the end of the meeting, Christian Danielson thanked Aleksandre Jejelava for an informative meeting and expressed readiness to cooperate in the field of education and science.
