IX graders visited Akhaltsikhe Castle within the framework of Free Lessons. The excursion was dedicated to the topic – Georgian history and Samtskhe Javakheti. The pupils from four public schools also toured the historical museum of Samtskhe Javakheti. After the event, the children met with Lia Gigauri, deputy minister of Education.
Under the initiative of the Minister of Education and Science, a new large scale project is being implemented to improve the quality of education, increase motivation of children to study, expand informal education and facilitate development of interesting and cheerful school life at public schools.
Free lessons mean the cycle of off-class/informal activities which are tailored to the interests of children. The content and study methodology is distinguished from typical study process; the children do not have to do homework, they do not get grades and the children and teachers have an opportunity to carry out creative activities. The school excursions were resumed in a completely new format.
The off-school lessons - On the Akhaltsikhe Castle will be continued and the MoES educational resource centers, Regional administration of Samtskhe-Javakheti, City Hall of Akhaltsikhe and the castle administration will contribute to the process.
