National English Language Spelling Competition (NESC-GE) is an analogous of an American project Spelling Bee. This year, the fifth competition was held in Georgia and involved the children of VIII-XII grades from 12 regions of Georgia. The competition consists of three stages. The participants compete with each other in spelling the complex English words. The competition gives a unique chance to Georgian children and teachers to improve English language skills, represent their school and community and become the participants of the national competition.
NESC-GE was founded by the volunteers of the Peace Corps in Georgia and as the project of national importance, it is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science, US Embassy to Georgia, American Peace Corps, Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, British Council in Georgia, PH International and others.
