The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is implementing a distance learning project of the Georgian language for Georgian children living abroad. The children of 5-15 years of age with zero, minimal or average level of knowledge can participate in the project. The lessons will be provided online, in a live mode by professional teachers of the Georgian language.
The pilot project was carried out in Great Britain in 2016. Total 15 lessons were provided. The project turned to be quite successful and other countries also showed interest to get involved. Therefore, the decision on expanding the project was made. Currently, the project may be implemented in other European countries.
The project is being implemented with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
The project is executed by the LEPL National Center for Teacher Professional Development.
Technical assistance is provided by LEPL Education Management Information System.
