Special Program for Autistic Pupils Has Been Functioning Since 2013

The aims of the program are as follows:

  • Promotion to development of social, functional, academic skills, behaviour management of the pupils;
  • Pupils with special educational needs will be able to communicate with their peers, to get involved in the learning process;
  • Integrated classes are available in 72nd, 166th, 132nd, 41st public schools of Tbilisi, the First Classical Gymnasium, 21st public school of Rustavi, 13th public school of Batumi for pupils with autism spectrum disorders;
  • Integrated class is equipped with appropriate supporting resources, visualization and inventory;
  • Teacher, psychologist, special teacher, auxiliary teacher, auxiliary specialists are selected for a classroom through the competition procedure;
  • The teaching program is customized for each child’s needs;
  • All public schools in Georgia, with at least one pupil with special educational needs, get additional funding for supporting of such pupil.
