The project “Tao-Klarjeti Literary Heritage” aims to present the role of this historical region in unique historical and cultural context during determination of cultural profile and intellectual activities of the Georgian society. In the IX-X centuries the powerful literary centers were created in this region, where the best works of Greek-Byzantine writings were rewrote, as well as the original creative processes were fulfilled. In the end, the Tao-Klarjeti literary activities have greatly contributed to strengthening of ethno-cultural identity of the Georgian society of medieval centuries, that created the basis for political union of Georgia in X-XI centuries. The collection, published within the framework of the project, will be interesting for any reader interested in the history of Georgia, especially for students and researchers.
