Qualifying round of the national teams is in course within the scope of the sub-program of the International Academic Olympiads
The reform pending in the education system implies assimilation of the education level of Georgia with the international standards and development of such knowledge and skills in young people that respond to challenges and requirements of the modern world. One of the effective means of achieving this goal is to participate in the international academic Olympiads of pupils.
International Olympiads are distinguished by scales and long-term experience. For example, the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) was founded in 1959 in Romania and only seven countries participated in it. Today the number of the participating countries is more than 90. The first International Physics Olympiad was held in 1967 in Poland and now there are over 100 countries participating in it, the Olympiad in Informatics was launched in Bulgaria in 1989 and more than 80 countries are involved, the Chemistry Olympiad has been conducting since 1968 and unites 75 participating countries, while the Biology Olympiad is held since 1989 and 60 countries take part in it. These Olympiads are hosted by different countries annually.
Georgia has been involved in the international Olympiads since 1992. We have obtained 3 gold, 16 silver, 52 bronze medals and 37 honorable diplomas for the last 6 years.
Georgia will present the national teams of pupils at the International Academic Olympiads of 2017 in five disciplines:
a) 48th International Physics Olympiad, IPhO 2017 (Indonesia, Jogyakarta, July 16-24);
b) 58th International Mathematics Olympiad, IMO 2017 (Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, July 12-23);

e) 49th International Chemistry Olympiad, IChO 2017 (Thailand, Bangkok, July 6-15).
