A program for preparation of 5-6 years old children for school was created for the first time in the history of education. The School Preparedness Program stipulates preparation of children of about 5-6 years for schools through the method of teaching with games. It facilitates multilateral and full development of a child, improvement of motor, social, emotional, cognitive skills, communication and speech development. The program provides adequate training of a child for expectations and challenges towards the first graders. It helps each of them to maximize the potential and to develop the necessary skills for future life and for formation as a successful citizen.

The School Preparedness Program envisages three hours of work per day during 30 weeks and has been established in senior groups of kindergartens in Tbilisi and regions. A manual (guidebook), activity collection and training module for teachers were created within the framework of the program. The second part of the School Preparedness Program Activities was recently published and has already been handed over to the municipalities.
