This year program “Erasmus+” becomes 30 years old. The program was first launched in 1987 and initially covered the European countries only. Georgian universities have been participating in the program since 1995 and the students exchange programs have been introduced for our citizens ten years ago. The program “Erasmus+” promotes partnership with the European universities and, in overall, contributes to development of the Georgian universities: new curricular programs were developed, administrative reform was implemented, European quality standards were introduced.

Important statistics

• 102 projects were carried out with the participation of 39 Georgian universities;
• In the last two years, Georgia is ranked on the 8^th place among 131 partner countries with 2 444 Erasmus+ exchange scholarships.
